PROMPERÚ Boosts Luxury Tourism for Operators in Asia and Oceania with Guided Experiences
In order to better showcase Peru’s image in Asia and Oceania, PROMPERÚ organized three special trips in November. Agents from China, India, and Australia visited the country’s most important tourist attractions. They also visited regions that are priorities for their markets.
First, operators from China and India traveled to Lima, Cusco, and Loreto. There they sampled delicious Peruvian cuisine and explored the ancient Inca world. They then sailed through the Amazon on a luxury cruise ship, discovering Peru’s enormous cultural and natural diversity. This increased both countries’ interest in Peru as a destination.
Then, from November 25 to December 3, it was the turn of the Australian agents. They toured Lima, Cusco, and Madre de Dios. This trip was part of the new alliance between National Geographic and the G Adventures agency. This collaboration will be launched in January 2026. Peru will therefore be included in the portfolio of luxury destinations with a purpose that will be offered to the Australian market.
All itineraries combined nature, culture, history, and unique experiences. Peru was thus presented as an ideal destination for luxury tourism. PROMPERÚ, which works alongside Mincetur, is promoting these initiatives to strengthen the country’s presence in Asia and Oceania. It also seeks to attract visitors with high purchasing power.
Importance of These Markets
Travelers from China, India, and Australia have strong purchasing power. They also want to discover new places. That is why they seek cultural tourism, nature tourism, and personalized luxury experiences.
Finally, as of November this year, tourist arrivals from these countries grew by 18.7% compared to the same period in 2024.
