These terms and conditions of sale apply to the services offered by UrosExpeditions. Both our agency, Uros Expeditions, and you agree toaccept and comply with them. It is the responsibility of the excursionist to read, understand, and comply withthese terms and conditions. Uros Expeditions cannot be held responsible if theexcursionist is unaware of or misinterprets our terms and conditions.
Rates
- All rates are expressed in US dollars and are subject to change without prior notice. Prices requested in other currencies
will be subject to the exchange rate on the day. Once payment has been made, prices are not subject to change. - Different payment systems have a shipping fee:
Cards (5%), PayPal (10%), Money Gram/Western Union, which must be paid by THE CUSTOMER. - All balances must be paid in cash, or by credit or debit card (in full) before the briefing meeting to be held the night
before your trip. Cards are subject to an additional 5% service fee.
Night Flights and Early Morning Arrivals
- According to international standards, hotel rooms are available from noon on the day of arrival until noon on the day of departure. To ensure that your room is available if you arrive early in the morning, you would need to have booked it from noon the previous day. Example: if you arrive early in the morning on August 20, the reservation should be made on August 19.
Reservation
- Your reservation is confirmed once the requested deposit amount has been received. In response, Uros Expeditions will send you a service contract. Please carefully review your service contract and immediately report any incorrect or incomplete information to the authorized agent, who must verify that the names are exactly as they appear on the passport or according to the information provided by the tourist or hiker.
- The information you provide is strictly confidential and will only be used to generate reservations or purchase tickets to Machu Picchu or the Inca Trail.
- The deposit is non refundable under any circumstances. There are no exceptions.
- It is the customer’s responsibility to pay the advance or balance for the service contracted within the deadlines established by Uros Expeditions. Failure to comply with these deadlines will result in the company reserving the right to cancel the reservation without refund.
- Bring your original passport or valid identity card (if you are allowed to enter the country) with which you made the reservation (not a copy). This same document will be presented at the checkpoint to enter the Inca Trail or your tours in Cusco and Machu Picchu. If you originally booked with an old passport and then renewed your passport, you must also bring your expired passport along with your new, valid passport to allow entry, or you will be denied entry to the trail and Machu Picchu.
- The only acceptable form of identification for receiving a student discount is a university ID card with a clear expiration date that must be the same year as when you take your tours or hikes. ID cards with an expiration date in the following year, even if clearly valid, will not be accepted by the Peruvian government.
- It is the CUSTOMER’s responsibility to provide arrival and departure details in advance, and they must ensure that this information is communicated well in advance. Uros Expeditions disclaims any additional liability arising from any omission or inaccuracy on the part of the passenger in relation to the coordination of pick-up/transfer.
- It is clarified that, in the event that customers do not show up to take the tour at the established time, date, and place, no refund will be made, as this situation is classified as a “NO SHOW.”
Cancellations:
- Cancellations: Your deposit is 100% non-refundable. If you need to cancel for any reason, as the start date of your trip approaches, there may be an additional payment fee. There are absolutely no exceptions (we do not accept medical notes of any kind) as our out-of-pocket expenses are non-refundable to us.

TOURS AND HIKES:
- Permits for the Inca Trail are issued in your name and cannot be modified or transferred. They cannot be exchanged for a different date or refunded under any circumstances once the permit or ticket has been purchased. The deposit will be forfeited. Please note that this is a regulation of the Peruvian government and not of Uros Expeditions (or any other agency).
- If you become ill or injured on the trail and cannot continue, a porter will be provided to accompany you back to an area with emergency assistance capabilities. Helicopter transfers and medical assistance are the responsibility of the hiker. If you are unable to complete the tour due to illness, we will assist you in meeting up with your group at Machu Picchu to resume the tour at that point. There will be no refund of the original payment.
- Some services may be interrupted or canceled at the last minute for natural reasons (such as bad weather, landslides, or others) or human reasons (such as strikes or others) beyond our control or that of our suppliers. In this case, no refund will be made. However, Uros Expeditions will try to satisfy the customer in the best possible way. It is the customer’s responsibility to take out insurance.
- You must notify your guide if you wish to leave the group, the camping area, or the tourist attraction to go on independent walks or sightseeing tours. If you have any problems with the guide’s services or the tour, please notify the guide at that time so that any issues can be resolved.
- The return route from Machu Picchu village or Aguas Calientes to Cusco depends on train availability.
- Uros Expeditions will take all reasonable precautions to prevent our customers from accidents, illness, and loss of personal property, and will only employ properly qualified personnel. We accept responsibility for the actions of our own employees. However, Uros Expeditions cannot be held responsible for the actions of third parties. You are fully responsible for your personal property and rented equipment.
- Covering events such as adverse weather conditions, natural disasters, strikes, accidents, illnesses, injuries, loss of personal belongings, etc. We reserve the right to modify or cancel the program due to any of the unforeseen conditions listed above.
- In the event of a reservation without actual availability of spaces, the refund will be for the full amount paid, without any fees.
- If a refund of part or all of an amount already paid must be made as a result of an error not attributable to our Agency or our payment system, or as a result of the choice of the excursionist, the refund will be for the full amount paid minus a penalty of 8% of the amount paid, with a minimum of US$35.00, for administrative and banking expenses. Examples include a double booking request, a booking request that is partially or totally canceled immediately afterwards, an error in the options chosen, etc.
MEDICAL INFORMATION
- You must inform Uros Expeditions of any medical conditions or allergies you may have. You must be in good physical health for treks or tours, and if your health is in doubt, you should consult a doctor. If you are over 70 years of age, you must provide us with a medical certificate of good health.
- You are responsible for assessing whether a Tour is suitable for you. You should consult your doctor to confirm your fitness to travel and participate in the planned activities. You should seek advice from your doctor regarding vaccinations and medical precautions. The company does not provide medical advice. It is your responsibility to assess the risks and requirements of each aspect of the trip based on your particular circumstances, limitations, physical condition, and medical requirements.
- Uros Expeditions reserves the right to deny you permission to travel or participate in any aspect of a trip at any time and at your own risk if the company determines that your physical or mental condition renders you unfit to travel or poses a danger to yourself or others.
- Pregnancy is considered a medical condition and must be disclosed to the company at the time of booking. The company may refuse to transport pregnant women who are more than 24 weeks pregnant. The company may refuse to transport any person with certain medical conditions if reasonable accommodations or alternatives cannot be arranged.
- It is strongly recommended that you take out travel insurance to protect yourself in case of a medical emergency or trip cancellation.
