Iniciativa Uros Expeditions

Esnna

Under Law No. 28251, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR) has created the policy against the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents (ESNNA). Therefore, the ESNNA Code and UROS EXPEDITIONS establish a joint agreement to take actions aimed at preventing and eradicating this problem. Accordingly, we declare that:

We reject the Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents (ESNNA) in Peru and worldwide, in general and particularly in its form associated with travel and tourism, as it is a practice that violates the fundamental rights of individuals and is contrary to the intrinsic objectives of tourism activity in our country.

We report and condemn those who use tourism activities, as well as the facilities and services they offer, to promote, facilitate, or tolerate the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents.

UROS EXPEDITIONS hereby subscribes to this Code of Conduct against the Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents within the tourism sector.

This Code is a formal declaration of voluntary commitment that aims to establish standards of conduct for all individuals working at UROS EXPEDITIONS, with the purpose of protecting children and adolescents from all forms of sexual exploitation and human trafficking associated with travel and tourism.

Likewise, as members of this company, and in order to take the necessary measures to protect children and adolescents against sexual exploitation, we commit to:

  • Maintain an ethical policy rejecting the commercial sexual exploitation of children and adolescents within the context of travel and tourism.
  • Inform and train staff about the company’s policy regarding the prevention of sexual exploitation of children and adolescents in tourism and travel.
  • Maintain visible signs that inform clients and suppliers of the company’s position against the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents in tourism and travel.
  • Include a clause in contracts with tourism service providers declaring a shared rejection of the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents. The following paragraph will be used:

“Tourism promotes a childhood and adolescence free from sexual exploitation; therefore, we do not accept any act that promotes or facilitates the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents.”
