TOURISE 2025 Awards: Peru has the Best Adventure Destination in the World
Peru continues to receive awards for its beauty and its people. This time, the Ancash region was honored at the TOURISE 2025 Awards for offering one of the best adventures in the world. Deputy Minister of Tourism Aracelly Laca received the trophy during a ceremony in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as part of the UN Tourism General Assembly.
During her speech, the deputy minister expressed her joy. She said that this award reflects the work of communities, guides, and tourism entrepreneurs. She also explained that this achievement represents a joint effort to care for nature and support families who make their living from tourism.
The award was organized by the Ministry of Tourism and the Saudi Arabian Tourism Authority, together with companies in the sector. Its aim is to reward destinations that stand out for their innovation, sustainability, and development. Thanks to this, Peru reaffirms its position as one of the world leaders in adventure tourism, with authentic experiences that combine nature and culture.
In addition to the award, the deputy minister participated in the UN Tourism meetings. There she spoke about cooperation between countries, Artificial Intelligence in tourism, and new investments. She also held meetings with authorities from other countries and was elected chair of the Program and Budget Committee of the Executive Council.
