Thousands of Brazilian Fans are Already in Lima for the Libertadores Final
With just three days to go before the Copa Libertadores final between Flamengo and Palmeiras, which will be held this Saturday, November 29, at the Estadio Monumental in Ate, the police reported that more than 6,000 foreign fans have already arrived in Peru. They also said that the number continues to grow every day.
The general also said that the police had held more than 13 meetings with immigration authorities, CONMEBOL, and the Brazilian Embassy. As a result, they now have a list and documents for all visitors who purchased tickets. This allows them to check their information and ensure that everything is in order.
The Ministry of the Interior also reported that more than 50,000 Brazilian fans could arrive in Peru to watch the match.
Police Deployment and Security
For this major international event, Monroy announced that the police will deploy more than 1,600 officers in and around the stadium. In addition, other police officers will be working on activities taking place at the same time in Lima, such as the 2025 Bolivarian Games.
Similarly, specialized units such as explosives, canine, traffic, and SUAT will be on standby starting Friday, November 28. Security has also been organized for the players, their teams, and all their transfers within the city.
