Did you know that more than 25,000 international tourists will set foot in Peru thanks to the Port of Callao? With the arrival of 21 impressive cruise ships, this port will see a wave of opportunities for tourism, gastronomy, and local commerce. Callao is preparing to shine like never before in the 2025–2026 season.

APM Terminals Callao, the company in charge of the North Multipurpose Terminal, will organize arrival and departure operations. Thus, Callao is consolidating its position as Peru’s most important port and a key point for maritime tourism in the region.

In addition, the arrival of cruise ships will bring good news for the local economy. For example, it will boost the hotel, restaurant, and retail industries. In this way, many families in Lima and Callao will be able to benefit from new visitors.

On the other hand, the company stated that it has already coordinated security measures with the authorities. Immigration, logistics operators, and maritime agencies are working together in this group to ensure that everything runs smoothly.

The cruise ship reception program brings together many different players. We all work to ensure that the ships are protected and that tourists feel safe,” explained Fernando Fauche, commercial director of APM Terminals Callao.

Thanks to its modern infrastructure and specialized staff, the terminal can receive very large cruise ships coming from different international routes in the Pacific. It is currently the only port in Lima with the capacity to serve these ships in accordance with global safety and service standards.

Finally, APM Terminals announced that it plans to sign a new agreement in 2026. With this step, it will be able to begin a second expansion of the port. Thus, Callao will continue to grow and will be an important gateway for tourism and maritime trade in Peru.
