Pucallpa Zoo Doubled Visitors in 2025, Ranking Among Peru’s Most Popular
The Pucallpa Natural Park Zoo was one of the most visited tourist attractions in Peru in 2025. That year, it received 270,809 visitors. In contrast, in 2024, 128,017 people visited. Therefore, the 2025 figure was more than double. In addition, the Andina Agency reported this data.
According to administrator Hugo del Águila, the increase was 111.54%. This happened because the zoo added new species. It also improved its infrastructure. At the same time, it worked more with tour operators. For example, there are now animals that were not there before. Among them are capybaras and otters. The yellow-tailed choro also arrived. They even have an eight-meter anaconda. That is why this anaconda has become one of the most sought-after attractions.
Of the total number of visitors for the year, 127,610 were adults aged 18 to 64. In addition, 44,778 were children under the age of 12. There were also 20,175 foreign tourists. This figure grew by 476.26% compared to 2024. In that year, only 3,501 international visitors were recorded. Thus, the zoo attracted many more people from other countries.
In addition, 50,679 people entered for free. Among them were senior citizens. Children under the age of three also entered. Likewise, high school and university students entered. Members of the National Police and the Navy also entered. On the other hand, the zoo has a video surveillance system. This way, they take care of visitors. They also protect the animals.
The zoo is located at kilometer 4 of the Federico Basadre highway. It is also just a few minutes from the Plaza de Armas and Pucallpa airport. General admission costs 5 soles. However, children under 12 pay 3 soles. In addition, some groups do not pay.
Finally, the administration invited the local, national, and foreign public to continue visiting the site. This is because improvements are still ongoing. In addition, they are seeking to achieve their final classification. Hugo del Águila said that people are becoming more and more excited. And not just because of the animals. Also because of the changes and improvements that the park continues to show.
