Peru Strengthens Tourism Positioning in Italian Media With Reports on Nature and Culture
The Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism, known as PROMPERÚ, highlighted the recent publication of two articles in the travel section of the Italian newspaper *La Repubblica*. Furthermore, this publication is one of the most important in Italy. These articles showcase the great value of Peru’s natural, cultural, and scenic diversity.
The first article is titled “Peru. The Amazonas Region and the Land of the Chachapoyas, the Warriors of the Clouds.” In it, the Amazonas region is presented as an authentic destination, rich in history and natural beauty. The article also highlights sites such as the Fortress of Kuélap, the Gocta Waterfall, the Karajía Sarcophagi, the Revash Mausoleums, and the city of Lima. It also highlights Peruvian cuisine and the country’s cultural heritage.
Furthermore, the Italian publication included Peru in the feature “In the Silence of the Mountains: From the Dolomites to Patagonia, 12 Trails to Unforgettable Sunrises.” This article is dedicated to routes and experiences for witnessing unforgettable sunrises and trekking in various destinations around the world. In addition, this article mentions attractions such as the Gocta Waterfall, Laguna 69, the Tambopata National Reserve, and Lake Titicaca.
Both publications strengthen Peru’s presence in key tourism markets. Furthermore, they help promote experiences related to nature tourism, adventure, culture, and experiential travel.
In this regard, Freddy José María Solano González, executive president of PROMPERÚ, noted that “this type of coverage helps position Peru as a diverse and authentic destination. It also demonstrates that the country can offer unique experiences that blend nature, living culture, cuisine, and history. Peru’s presence in leading international media outlets strengthens the visibility of our destinations in strategic markets such as Italy.”
Finally, the coverage also highlights less traditional destinations and sustainable experiences. In this way, the promotion of Peru aligns with new international travel trends. These trends focus on discovering new places, connecting with nature, and responsible tourism.
