Peru Strengthens Its Tourism and Gastronomy Profile at U.S. Fair
Peru positioned itself as a tourist, gastronomic, and cultural destination at the Winternational 2025 fair. This event was held in Washington.C, D. It is also one of the main cultural and diplomatic gatherings in the US capital. Every year, it brings together diplomatic missions accredited in that country. Therefore, it serves to promote the cultural diversity of many nations. In this edition, the Peruvian Embassy in the United States played a prominent role.
At the Peruvian stand, attendees found a sample of the country’s cuisine. They also received information about the country’s main tourist destinations. Peru was highlighted as a place offering unique experiences. For example, attractions on the coast, in the mountains, and in the jungle were showcased. In this way, the public learned about the country’s great diversity.
Peru also participated in the first cultural showcase organized by Winternational. Traditional dances from the country’s three regions were presented in this space. For example, the marinera, a symbol of the Peruvian coast, was performed. The Afro-Peruvian festejo was also presented. Other representative artistic expressions were also included.
Thanks to Peru’s participation in Winternational 2025, tourism was promoted as a strategic axis of development. In addition, the country’s positioning abroad was strengthened. Similarly, the international projection of its cultural and gastronomic identity was reinforced. Thus, this presence reaffirmed the commitment of the Peruvian Embassy in the United States. Finally, the use of tourism promotion and cultural diplomacy as key tools for strengthening ties between peoples and spreading a positive and diverse image of the country was highlighted.
