Peru to Participate in ITB Berlin 2026 as Leading Adventure Travel Partner
The Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism, PROMPERÚ, is already preparing to participate in the German trade fair ITB Berlin 2026. From March 3 to 5, it will be accompanied by 15 Peruvian companies. There, it will showcase the wide variety of trips and experiences Peru has to offer. In this way, it hopes to encourage more people to see the country as an ideal destination. It also wants to highlight sustainable tourism. It also wants to promote nature and adventure tourism.
As an “Adventure Travel Partner” of ITB Berlin, PROMPERÚ will be on several panels for professionals from Germany. There, it will talk about responsible adventure tourism. It will also talk about community-based tourism. In addition, it will discuss the protection of fragile ecosystems. On the first day, it will participate in the Green and Blue Tourism Forum. This forum will discuss ideas for traveling without harming nature. PROMPERÚ will give a talk on regenerative tourism in Peru and explain why this type of travel is becoming increasingly important around the world.
On the second day, it will participate in the panel “Travel that generates change.” There, it will explain how community-based tourism helps Peruvian communities. It will also join the ITB Convention. In the Adventure and Outdoor Tourism session, it will present the importance of sustainable adventure. It will also explain how this type of tourism can bring benefits that last for many years. In this way, more local families can improve their lives without losing their culture or their environment.

These activities will also be supported by a stand in the ITB Adventure Pavilion. There, clear information will be provided about destinations in Peru where adventure can be experienced. On the other hand, the country’s main stand will be inspired by the Peruvian Amazon. This will highlight authentic experiences. In addition, everything will have a focus on regenerative tourism.
Peru’s presence will also include a comprehensive gastronomic program. For example, there will be show cooking demonstrations of Peruvian foods. There will also be presentations of pisco cocktails. Peruvian coffee tastings will even be offered.
Participating in events such as ITB Berlin 2026 demonstrates the commitment of Mincetur, through PROMPERÚ. This promotes inbound tourism, i.e., tourism by people coming from other countries. Therefore, this promotion helps Peru’s economy. It also generates business for hotels, restaurants, and guides, among many other jobs, and supports fairer and more sustainable development in various regions of the country.
