Peru concluded its participation as Host Country at the Reisen & Caravaning trade fair in Hamburg 2026. The event took place from February 5 to 8 in Germany. This was reported by the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (PROMPERÚ). In addition, Peru’s presence focused on showcasing sustainable travel that helps repair nature to the German public.

During the four days of the event, there were artistic shows. These were presented on the main stage and also at the Peru stand. The public was treated to dances and cultural expressions from the country. At the same time, ideas for trips that combine nature, history, and customs were shared. The message was therefore one of tourism that leaves something good behind in local communities.

The Peru stand also took care of the environment. For example, it used reused and reusable materials. It also employed systems that consume little energy. In this way, the stand’s design was consistent with what Peru wanted to communicate at the fair.

On the first day, the stand welcomed almost 40 guests from Germany. Among them was Christoph Ploss, the German federal government’s coordinator for maritime trade and tourism. Susanne Brennecke, president of the Hamburg Tourism Association, also attended. Representatives from the organization that held the fair were also present, giving the meeting a formal and businesslike character.

Reisen & Caravaning is northern Germany’s most important trade fair for the general public. In 2026, it attracted 60,000 visitors and 500 exhibitors. With this participation, Peru continues to gain ground in Europe. It is thus presented as a destination that welcomes tourists with a clear idea: to travel, care for, and support the local people.
