The Central Jungle is gearing up for a big celebration. From June 20 to 29, Satipo, Chanchamayo, and Oxapampa will host the 21st Central Jungle Tourism Week 2026.

For ten days, tourists will arrive from various parts of Peru and around the world. They will also find traditional food, artisan fairs, sports, music, dances, and nature walks. There will be fun for everyone.

Among the most anticipated events is the 3rd International Cycling Competition “Tuctuca Satipo 2026.” Also noteworthy are the largest Juane Festival in the Central Jungle, the 2nd Capybara Festival, “Selvámonos 2026” in Oxapampa, and the 2nd Pire Fest featuring Asháninka beverages.

There will also be beauty pageants and motocross races. Additionally, there will be tourist caravans, a trail fest, parades, traditional games, and agricultural and artisan fairs. There will also be new dishes to try.

The Junín Tourism Directorate led the official launch. Representatives from Satipo, Chanchamayo, and Oxapampa participated alongside local authorities. For this reason, the authorities emphasized that this festival boosts tourism and drives the region’s economy.

Indigenous communities will have a special place. They will share their customs, music, dances, and ancient knowledge. In this way, they will showcase the great cultural diversity found in the Central Jungle.

One of the most moving moments came courtesy of Jessika Sánchez Comanti. She is an ambassador for traditional Asháninka music. She then moved the audience with her performance of the song “Tampya.”

The 2026 Central Jungle Tourism Week Expo Fair also opened its doors on the esplanade of the Provincial Municipality of Huancayo. There, producers, artisans, and entrepreneurs from Satipo, Chanchamayo, and Oxapampa are showcasing agro-industrial products, handicrafts, textiles, and traditional local cuisine. The fair will run through Sunday, May 24.

With this edition, the Central Jungle aims to continue growing as a unique destination in Peru. It also invites visitors to experience nature, living culture, and friendly people. Therefore, the invitation is open to all.

Tourism Week began in 2003. That year, several institutions joined forces to showcase the Central Jungle as a major destination in the country. Today, the festival brings the provinces together and helps highlight their natural, Peruvian gastronomic, and cultural riches.

Currently, the Central Jungle has more than 200 registered tourist attractions. Among them are waterfalls, nature reserves, adventure trails, traditional dishes, and cultural expressions that attract thousands of travelers each year.
