Peru Brand Shines on Its 15th Anniversary, Wins Global Country Brand Award 2026
On its 15th anniversary, the Peru Brand received a very prestigious award. It is called “Country Brand of the Year 2026” and was presented by Spain’s Country Brand Foundation. Furthermore, this is the first time a Latin American country has won this award. Therefore, this achievement demonstrates that Peru has successfully cultivated its global image. It also confirms that its strategy is among the best in the world.
The Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, José Reyes, explained this success. According to him, it was achieved through consistent effort. In other words, the goal was to showcase Peru’s culture, landscapes, and products to the world. Places like Cusco, Arequipa, and Puno attract thousands of visitors each year. So do unique destinations like Lake Titicaca and historic sites such as Sacsayhuamán. Therefore, this recognition did not come by chance.
“Marca Perú will continue to grow,” the minister stated. He also explained that new generations will carry the country’s name even further. To do so, they will embrace innovation and protect the environment. They will also work with pride for Peru. Furthermore, he noted that the public and private sectors will remain united. In this way, the country will be able to present itself better to the world. Consequently, the Peru Brand reflects what can be achieved when everyone works together.
The Secret Behind a Brand People Love
Since 2011, the Peru Brand has grown significantly. At first, it was simply an idea to represent the country. Over time, however, it became a symbol of pride. Today, many consider it a “lovemark”—that is, a brand that people love and respect. Furthermore, it has become a key tool for showcasing Peru to the world.

Thanks to these efforts, tourism has increased. Exports have also grown. For example, cities like Cusco welcome travelers who then visit Sacsayhuamán. Likewise, Arequipa stands out for its architecture and Puno for its connection to Lake Titicaca. Furthermore, more investors have become interested in the country. All of this was possible because the public and private sectors worked together. In this way, they achieved a common goal. In short, the Peru Brand helped drive the country’s development.
When the World Sets Its Sights on Peru
The international award recognizes all this effort. It also evaluates various aspects of the work carried out. For example, it analyzes how the country is presented and what results are achieved. Therefore, this recognition confirms that Peru can compete on a global level. It also demonstrates that the country has a unique offering. This is based on its culture, its natural beauty, and its talented people.
There is also the Licensee Program. Currently, it has more than a thousand active licenses. Thanks to this program, companies and organizations represent Peru in sectors such as exports, tourism, and gastronomy. In this way, they help promote the country’s image in various markets.
The ceremony took place in the Promperú auditorium. Several officials attended, including Deputy Minister of Tourism Aracelly Laca and Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade César Llona. Promperú Executive President Ricardo Limo was also present, along with business leaders and representatives from various sectors.
During the event, several companies were recognized. These companies help position the Peru Brand globally. Among them are Agroindustrias Tres Generaciones S.A.C., San Roque S.A., Industrias Agrícolas S.R.L., Ediciones Corefo S.A.C., and Canechi Tours S.A.C. Thanks to their work, the country gains greater visibility. With 15 years of history, the Peru Brand continues to be a driver of development. It also positions the country as a reliable and competitive destination.
