Peru at the 2026 Tourism Oscars: How Many Nominations It Earned and in Which Categories
The competition has begun for the 33rd edition of the 2026 World Travel Awards South America. And once again, Peru is participating to shine as one of the region’s top destinations. That’s why many people want to know how many nominations the country has received for these awards—known as the “Oscars of Tourism”—and until when voting is open.

In 2026, Peru is competing with 21 nominations, five more than last year. These categories include Best Tourist Attraction, Best Culinary Destination, and Best Tourist Office in South America. Furthermore, the country has won in several of these categories before.

- Best Cultural Destination in South America: Peru has won this award ten times. It won in 2014, 2015, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025.
- Best Culinary Destination in South America: Peru has won this award 12 times. For example, it won in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025.
- Best Green Destination in South America: Peru also stands out here. In fact, it has already won in 2010, 2011, 2017, and 2020.
- Leading Tourist Destination in South America: Peru won this award for the first time in 2024.

When is the voting deadline?
Voting began on March 30 and ends on June 12, 2026. Therefore, it’s best not to wait until the last day. It’s best to vote early and support the Peruvian nominees, who are aiming to surpass the four awards won in the 2025 edition.
