Officials Push to Renew Inka Q’eswachaka Bridge as Sustainable Tourist Attraction

The mayor of Quehue, representatives from Gercetur and Plan Copesco, along with the regional councilor for the province of Canas, formed a working committee. Through this committee, the authorities aim to promote the renovation of the Inka Q’eswachaka Bridge.

In addition, this group will have a primary task: securing the necessary funding to preserve this important tourist attraction.

For her part, the regional councilor for Canas led a working group alongside Gercetur. Local authorities participated in this meeting. Also present were the Ombudsman’s Office and representatives from the communities of Chaupibanda, Choccayhua, Huinchiri, and Qollana Quehue.

During the meeting, participants outlined actions to renovate the bridge. They also agreed to work on promoting it as a tourist attraction. Furthermore, these actions take into account the bridge’s importance in improving the local economy and creating more opportunities for the population.

Attendees also presented various proposals to strengthen the promotion of this attraction. The team will then organize these ideas to establish a clear order. Through this, the authorities aim to establish a joint strategy to position the Q’eswachaka Bridge as a sustainable tourism product.
