Surquillo and La Punta are preparing to offer more than a thousand free pisco sour tastings in each district. This will take place on National Pisco Sour Day 2026. In addition, the celebrations will run from Friday, February 6 to Sunday, February 8.

Both places want to be the meeting point for this Peruvian drink. That’s why they will be offering activities for everyone. They will also be serving Peruvian food, music, and culture.

Starting this Friday, Surquillo will become the center of the great pisco sour festival. The event, supported by the municipality, will take place in Reducto Park on Angamos Avenue for three days and will bring together families, neighbors, and tourists with free admission. Many people are expected to attend.

The festival will feature well-known brands and artisanal producers. In addition, famous bartenders will give live demonstrations and teach how to prepare pisco sour step by step. Then, a food fair will showcase dishes from various regions of Peru so that everyone can try something different.

Manuel Carmona, director of events for the Chamber of Gastronomy and Tourism, spoke about the event. According to him, the support of the Municipality of Surquillo helps to better organize the festival. It also allows it to have a cultural tone.

Carmona explained a clear idea. First, he said that the municipality’s support makes it possible to have a well-organized festival with cultural significance. He also pointed out that this date brings people together around a tradition that represents the country.

The Perfect Summer Plan: Pisco Sour and Sea Breeze

According to the Regional Government of Callao, the festival will also run from February 6 to 8 and will offer more than a thousand free tastings. There will also be live music, food, crafts, and activities for the whole family.

The organizers highlighted the location in front of the sea. The landscape will be part of the show and will provide a special atmosphere for celebrating pisco sour. Admission will be free, and visitors will be able to enjoy artistic performances and sample typical local dishes.

The Secret Date of the Toast: why that Particular Saturday?

National Pisco Sour Day is celebrated every year on the first Saturday in February. Thus, in 2026, the main day will be Saturday, February 7. It is a highly anticipated date.

Pisco sour has a balanced flavor and many people recognize it by its foam. It is made with Peruvian pisco. It also contains lemon juice, gum syrup, egg white, and a touch of Angostura bitters.

The cocktail was created in the early 20th century at Morris’ Bar in Lima. Victor Morris, an American who promoted the drink, worked there. Over time, the recipe was adjusted and became the most famous in the country.

More than just a Drink: the Reason why the Whole Country Comes Together

This festival aims to remind people that pisco sour is part of Peru’s identity. It also promotes responsible consumption of pisco and supports local producers. It also boosts tourism and promotes the cocktail in other countries. In 2007, the National Institute of Culture declared it a National Cultural Heritage.

During these days, many cities organize cocktail competitions and food fairs. There are also shows that teach the history and preparation of pisco sour in a fun way. In Surquillo, the free delivery of a thousand pisco sours will be the most eagerly awaited moment, bringing together tradition, music, and culture in one place to share.
