MINCETUR Launches AI Virtual Assistant to Help Plan Trips to Peru
MINCETUR and PROMPERÚ have launched a new virtual travel assistant on Peru.travel. With this initiative, Peru is taking a major step toward showcasing its destinations to the world in a simpler, more modern, and more accessible way.
With this initiative, Peru is the first country in South America to use an AI tool that converses with people on its official tourism website. Additionally, this assistant helps travelers plan their trips with personalized support in multiple languages.
The assistant communicates with users in real time. As a result, it can offer suggestions based on their preferences and provide reliable information to help them better decide which places to visit in the country.
It also uses generative artificial intelligence and data analysis. In this way, it offers a more useful and up-to-date experience, similar to what many tourists around the world are looking for today.

This tool combines modern technology with official information about Peru. It also helps more people trust the country and see it as an innovative, strong destination ready to stand out among other places in the world.
In addition, the assistant will help highlight destinations off the beaten path that most tourists tend to visit when they first arrive in Peru. It will also emphasize experiences related to culture, nature, adventure, gastronomy, and sustainable tourism.
The ceremony took place at the Larco Museum in Pueblo Libre, Lima. In attendance were Minister José Reyes Llanos and Deputy Minister Aracelly Laca. Also present were Ricardo Limo del Castillo, María del Sol Velasquez, industry officials, tourism executives, and journalists. Everyone had the opportunity to learn about this new tool, which marks the beginning of a new era in showcasing Peru to the world.
