The Marca Perú gained significant international exposure by participating in the global broadcast of the celebrations for the 250th anniversary of the United States’ independence, held in New York.

During the official address by the Vice President of the United States, the Peruvian Sailing Training Ship B.A.P. Unión made its presence felt, sailing on the Hudson River and becoming a central part of the SAIL 250 international event. The ship also carried Casa Perú, the promotional platform created by PROMPERÚ to showcase the country’s tourism, cultural, and export potential.

The Peruvian sailing ship’s participation in one of the most significant ceremonies on the U.S. calendar provided a valuable opportunity to project the country’s image internationally, given that the event brings together naval delegations from various nations and its broadcast reaches millions of viewers.

As part of its 2026 Overseas Training Voyage (VIEX), the B.A.P. The B.A.P. Unión is participating in SAIL 250, one of the world’s most important nautical events. This edition brings together 43 tall ships from 20 countries, along with numerous warships and aircraft, and is expected to draw more than six million visitors.

Between July 5 and 7, a large number of visitors will have the opportunity to tour the B.A.P. Unión free of charge and explore Casa Perú, an immersive space designed by PROMPERÚ under the slogan “Peru, a country of unique experiences.” Casa Perú showcases the country’s diverse tourism offerings, export products, cultural heritage, and commitment to sustainability and innovation.

The sail displaying the Marca Perú (Peru Brand), along with Casa Perú installed on the B.A.P. Unión, are the result of a cooperation agreement between PROMPERÚ and the Peruvian Navy, an alliance that transforms the training ship into a mobile platform for promoting the country.

Through this initiative, promoted by PROMPERÚ, an agency under Mincetur, Peru showcases its tourism offerings, export goods, cultural heritage, biodiversity, and identity in each port, thus reinforcing its international presence and bringing the best of the country closer to thousands of people in the main destinations along their route.
