Starting Monday, November 17, visitors will be able to reserve and pay for their tickets to the Inca Trail Network and Machu Picchu in advance. This is expected to better organize trips for tourists and agencies.
Tour of Circuit 3B
Tickets will grant access to Circuit 3B, a route that runs through the lower part of Machu Picchu. It includes sacred sites such as the Temple of the Sun and the House of the Inca.
According to the Ministry, this route improves the visitor experience and allows for a more orderly visit to the archaeological site.
This route was created so that more people can enjoy the site without difficulty. In addition, it has no steep sections, making it ideal for people with reduced mobility.
During the tour, which lasts approximately two hours, tourists will be able to visit the Intihuatana Stone, the Sacred Plaza, the Royal Tomb, the Main Plaza, and other important sites.
The entrance fee will be S/ 64 for the general public and S/ 32 for students and minors.
Upcoming opening of Route 6 of the Inca Trail
In addition, the Ministry of Culture reported that it is already working on opening Route 6 of the Inca Trail. This new option will allow for better distribution of visitor flow and reduce congestion on the most heavily used trails.
In this way, the ministry reaffirms its commitment to the protection and care of Machu Picchu, considered a World Heritage Site.
Governors support the creation of a new authority. On the other hand, regional governors were in favor of creating an Autonomous Authority for Tourism and Heritage Management for Machu Picchu.
This proposal, presented in September by the National Assembly of Regional Governments (ANGR), seeks to manage tourism more efficiently and without political interests.
Another step towards protecting Machu Picchu
In summary, the Ministry of Culture continues to work to improve tourism in Peru. Its actions aim to protect heritage, organize visits, and offer a better experience to all travelers who dream of discovering the wonder of Machu Picchu.
