Casa Perú Opens Its Doors to the American Public
Peru continues to expand its international presence under the banner “Peru, Land of Unique Experiences.” In this context, Casa Perú, housed aboard the Peruvian Navy’s training ship, the B.A.P. Unión, has begun its tour of the United States, offering international audiences an immersive experience that highlights the country’s sustainability, community-based tourism, innovation, and rich cultural and natural heritage.
Following its successful run in Curaçao, Casa Perú arrived in the United States on May 28th to begin a tour that will continue until July 21st. During this tour, Peru’s traveling embassy will showcase the best of Peruvian culture, tourism, gastronomy, and export offerings to international audiences, thus strengthening the country’s position in one of its most strategic markets.
The first stop was New Orleans, where Casa Perú opened its doors to visitors eager to discover Peru’s tourist attractions, cultural identity, cuisine, and export offerings.
From there, the B.A.P. Unión will continue its journey to Norfolk, Virginia (June 18-22), and then to Baltimore, Maryland (June 24-July 1), where there will be significant participation from the Peruvian community residing on the East Coast. Later, the ship will arrive in New York between July 3 and 8, during the height of the American Independence Day celebrations, before concluding this leg of the trip in Boston, from July 10-16.
This year’s visit takes on special significance, as it marks the 250th anniversary of the United States’ independence and the 200th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Peru and the United States, reaffirming the deep historical, cultural, and commercial ties that unite both nations.
Throughout the tour, PROMPERÚ, an agency attached to the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR), is carrying out promotional activities with a global reach, including meetings with tour operators, businesspeople, opinion leaders, and media outlets, as well as cultural presentations and gastronomic experiences that contribute to strengthening Peru’s image in strategic markets.
In this context, Casa Perú is establishing itself as a strategic platform for international projection, allowing the country’s cultural, tourism, and export diversity to be showcased to the world through a unique experience aboard Peru’s most emblematic sailing ship.
In this way, PROMPERÚ reaffirms its commitment to positioning the country as a destination for unique experiences, a high-value export offering, and a reliable partner for the world, strengthening its international presence in key venues.
