PROMPERÚ supported the organization of the BikingMan IncaDivide Peru 2026, a project that helps solidify Peru’s image as an ideal destination for adventure and nature tourism. Among its international tourism promotion initiatives was the tenth edition of this demanding race, which brought together more than 80 international ultra-distance cyclists in the Peruvian Andes.

In addition, during the event, a press tour was organized with the participation of renowned French media outlets, such as France 24 and Radio France Internationale (RFI), with the aim of promoting the adventure and nature tourism opportunities offered by the Sacred Valley.

This coverage helps ensure proper promotion of the country’s destinations and guarantees that media representation aligns with the tourism promotion strategy.

The BikingMan IncaDivide race began in Urubamba, in Cusco’s Sacred Valley, featuring a challenging 1,200-kilometer route with 23,000 meters of elevation gain. Competitors crossed several mountain passes at elevations above 4,400 meters above sea level, reaching a maximum altitude of 5,100 meters, while traversing some of the most breathtaking landscapes of the Andes Mountains.

The 2026 edition of the BikingMan IncaDivide culminated in a one-two finish for France: Pierre Rolland was crowned champion after completing the course in 83 hours, while, in the women’s category, Laurianne Levasseur took first place.

“Ten years after the founding of BikingMan, the IncaDivide remains one of our most iconic races. Returning to Peru alongside these champions to commemorate this decade is a very meaningful moment. This competition goes beyond sports: it is a true human and cultural journey through Inca lands,” said Axel Carion, founder of BikingMan.

PROMPERÚ, an agency under the Ministry of Tourism and Foreign Trade (Mincetur), continues to promote strategies aimed at positioning Peru as a destination for adventure, nature, and vast landscapes, as well as attracting new travelers interested in authentic, high-value experiences.
