Simone Biles dazzled during her visit to Cusco

Simone Biles was delighted during her first hours in Peru. The legendary, multi-time Olympic champion chose to tour the Sacred Valley of the Incas, in Cusco, before attending the countdown ceremony for the Lima 2027 Pan American Games.

The American athlete, holder of 7 Olympic gold medals and 30 world titles, will appear before her fans in Lima’s Main Square, the venue where the official clock lighting will take place.

During her time in the imperial city, the 29-year-old athlete took the opportunity to visit the Sacred Valley of the Incas to share several moments with her followers, and was excited to tour the towns of Urubamba, Chincheros and Ollantaytambo.

“It’s beautiful, it’s amazing how these structures have been preserved for so many years. I’m delighted with how beautiful this country is, its culture, the colors, and the kindness of its people,” the gymnast told Panam Sports’ official website.

Simone Biles will be the main figure at the countdown ceremony for the Lima 2027 Pan American Games, as she will be the one to light the clock marking the start of the one-year countdown to the competition. The ceremony will take place on August 6 at Lima’s Main Square.

“I’m very excited to be part of this celebration. See you Thursday at the big celebration in Lima’s Main Square,” the Olympic champion said.

According to organizers, admission will be free; however, those who wish to attend will need to redeem their tickets through the Teleticket platform. The clock-lighting activities will begin at 3:00 p.m.
